About Evelyn Jean Pine

Playwright, performer, redhead. I write plays about moments when the world feels brand new -- whether it is or not. _The Invisible Project__, co-written with Katja Rivera, launched the Latinx Mafia's Staged Reading series this March 2021. _Molecule LitMag_ just published my quick-fire climate change play, _North Pole Bedtime_. My play, _Freeloader in the House of Love_, won "The Most Compelling Story" award at the Boulder Fringe. In May 2021, PlayGround presented a ZOOM reading of my latest comedy, _7 Secrets of Teaching Online_. I'm Lecturer-Faculty Emeritus at San Francisco State University where I used to teach Performance Studies in the Communications Studies Department. Back when online communities were fierce and young, I directed the Community Memory Project in Berkeley, managed Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility, developed an online conversation about poverty and welfare reform at Handsnet, launched the California Community Clinics Initiative’s online community, and created TechUP -- one of the first online communities to focus on Women and Girls. Oh, yeah, and I'm a user-owner of the world's greatest online community, The WELL. www.evelynjeanpine.com
