Object permanence is an act of the mind -- because the rest of nature likes to keep transforming stuff into something else. Libraries throughout history have discarded tons of stuff (sadly) and the Internet Archive -- and I do support their work -- has always had that tech bro (human?) cadence for the ginormous-- 'everything on the internet is so crucial we must save it forever' -- and yes, it does let us look back -- but that's never as important as looking forward, particularly if we don 't want a bunch of tech bros controlling our delightful destinies. thanks for the marvelous article.
