Wonderful article and I've always liked Martha Gellhorn, but what made me uneasy in this article were the two suicides -- years apart -- true, but still it was almost as if suicide is a communicable disease. Terribly sad that two great writers -- Hemingway is no Toni Morrison but he's good -- took their own lives.

There was a great article in _The New Yorker_ , I think, about how Hemingway owes his succinctness (which is cool) to Gertrude Stein.
